OLB Perhats hits the road

Crystal Lake (IL) Prairie Ridge senior outside linebacker prospect Joe Perhats (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) has been juggling his team responsibilities along with attending several college one day camps. Perhats recaps his latest recruiting news and much more here.

"I've been able to get out to some college camps lately," Perhats said. "I went to camps at North Central College, South Dakota State, North Dakota State and also Grand Valley State."

Perhats filled us in on his recent camp performances and impressions.

"I had a good experience at most of the camps so far. The South Dakota State camp went well and the coaches at SDSU said I was one of the best linebackers they saw at the camps this summer. SDSU already has three offers out to outside linebackers and they already have a commitment. The SDSU coaches said I'm very high on their list and that a lot of things could change."

"I also had a really good camp with Grand Valley State. They had about 150 guys at the camp and I tested and performed really well. GVSU hasn't offered anyone in the 2018 class yet. They wait until later in the process to extend scholarship offers but I was one of a handful of kids from the camp who was given a full tour of the campus and the facilities so it was a good sign."

Will Perhats visit any other schools soon?

"I'm all set to head out to Colorado State on July 21st for a camp and a visit and also Air Force that same weekend."

Perhats also is focused on his team this summer as the Wolves prepare to defend it's 2016 Class 6A state title.

"Everything has been going good in team camp. We just got back from a three day camp at Carthage College and everyone has been working hard and has also been really focused this summer."

Joe Perhats has scholarship offers from Saginaw Valley State and Sioux Falls.
