OLB Selig talks WMU decision

Lake Villa (IL) Lakes Community junior outside linebacker recruit Ryan Selig (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) was able to end his recruiting process last week and gave Western Michigan his verbal commitment. .

"I'm really excited about my decision," Selig said. "I looked at it as if I didn't play any football I would still love go to school at Western Michigan. I'm just very comfortable on campus at Western Michigan."

Selig, who was recruited by the Broncos as an outside linebacker recruit talked abotu why he decided to pledge to the Broncos.

"I went up recently for a spring practice and it was just very intense and super competitive. They really get after it in practice and I know that the coaches at Western Michigan will push me to be at my best. Western Michigan has a great campus and they also offer great academics."

So why make such an early verbal commitment?

"I was just very comfortable with everything and everyone at Western Michigan, so why not commit? I just didn't want to miss out on such a great opportunity especially when I already knew that I wanted to go to WMU."

Selig is also thrilled to have his college choice completed.

"I'm just happy that I can just be a kid again. I don't have to worry about recruiting and dealing with all of that now and I can just focus on school and my senior season."

Ryan Selig is verbally committed to Western Michigan.
