OLB Walker pledges to K State

Wheaton (IL) North senior two star ranked outside linebacker recruit Danny Walker (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) made a weekend official visit and a verbal commitment to Kansas State. Walker, who was originally committed to Nevada before the Wolfpack had a coaching change discusses his commitment to the Kansas State Wildcats here.

"I made my official visit to Kansas State this past weekend," Walker said. "I went into the visit being pretty sure that I was going to commit, but after I was on campus and met the coaches Kansas State was even better than I had imagined and I committed."

Walker discussed why he decided to pledge to the KSU Wildcats.

"Kansas State was the first school that contacted me after Nevada made it's coaching changes. I was really surprised to hear from Kansas State especially after I missed so much time in my junior year (because of injury). They remained in touch and offered me in mid December and we just kept building a great relationship ever since. The visit this weekend really sold me on Kansas State. I was able to see the campus, the facilities and also was able to get to know the players and the coaches better. Kansas State also has a brand new business school and it's just a great mix and fit for me at Kansas State."

Another huge factor for Walker was getting to know veteran head coach Bill Synder.

"I had a meeting on Sunday with Coach Snyder and In was also able to talk with him all weekend. Coach Snyder is an amazing person. He's just a greta coach who also cares about his players as much off the field than on the field. That really goes for all of the coaches at Kansas State. The entire staff at Kansas State was great and I'm just excited about my decision."

Danny Walker is verbally committed to Kansas State.
