Plenty of options for TE Ivy
Chicago (Ill.) Marist junior three star ranked tight end recruit TJ Ivy (6-foot-5, 217 pounds) has continued to add more scholarship offers this winter. Ivy checks in and talks about what's next for him and his recruiting process here.
"All of the offers have been a real blessing," Ivy said. "It's making it harder to sort out schools at times, but I'm not complaining at all. I'm just very grateful for everything so far."
Ivy is hoping to hit the road and make some spring on campus unofficial visits soon.
"I really want to get out and go see some schools in person soon. We had an early spring break this year and it was hard to line up some of those visits since some of the colleges had the same spring break as I had. I've stayed in touch with Iowa quite a bit and they want me to visit soon. I also want to get out to see West Virginia along with visiting Indiana as well."
So with 20 scholarship offers and counting so far this early spring, has Ivy begun to look harder at his option and offers?
"Adding all the new offers doesn't make that process any easier but I've been able to start to sort some schools out. I talk a lot with my Dad and my Mom about different schools and also doing research on schools. Some of the factors I'm looking at these days includes how each team that offers me uses it's tight end. It's important to me to find an offense that I feel can utilize my skills well. From the football side that's a big factor for me. I also look hard at several other big factors like academics and tradition. I'm also pretty focused on mainly Power 5 schools lately."
Does Ivy have a time frame for making a college decision?
"I know that more and more kids are committing early. I think I might be one of the last top ranked tight ends in state that hasn't committed yet. I'm looking at all of my options a bit harder now. I'll come up eventually with a top schools listing then I'll move froward from that point and get closer to a decision."
