EDGYTIM.com Week 2 Chicagoland Top 30 poll

1. Loyola Academy (1) (1-0) Suddenly a huge game this week with Maine South.

2. Glenbard West (2) (1-0)- Run the football...play hard nosed defense...execute. Repeat.

3. Homewood-Flossmoor (3) (1-0)- The Vikings just have weapons all over the field.

4. Glenbard North (4) (1-0) As good as advertised.

5. Lincoln-Way East (5) (1-0)- East now heads down South to take on Belleville West.

6. Mount Carmel (6) (1-0)- All systems go for the Caravan.

7. Palatine (7) (1-0)- A very impressive offense with a defense that made key stops when needed.

8. Brother Rice (8) (1-0)- Hard to not like the Crusaders in all phases this fall.

9. Waubonsie Valley (13) (1-0)- Close call win yet nothing comes easy in the DVC.

10. Prairie Ridge (14) (1-0)- Yes, QB Samson Evans can throw the ball as well.

11. Neuqua Valley (17) (1-0)- The Wildcats get solid play from both QB's over Metea Valley .

12. Hinsdale Central (16) (1-0)- Ok I have no idea who American Fork in Utah is either.

13. Maine South (22) (1-0)- Huge win= over Montini. QB Nick Leongas is a true dial threat the Hawks offense needed.

14. Oak Park-River Forest (20) (1-0)- Like the win over Simeon, but don't like losing the 20-0 lead guys.

15. Marist (10) (0-1)- Still a lot left in the tank for the Redhawks. Better days to come.

16. Bolingbrook(15) (0-1)- If the offense can tweak a few things beware.

17. Fenwick (NR) (1-0)- Experience pays off as the Friars rally for the come from behind upset win over Phillips.

18. Stevenson (12) (0-1)- Knock off the turnovers and the Patriots can hang with a lot of teams this fall.

19. Nazareth Academy (19) (1-0)- I guess that new inexperienced offense for Naz will be Ok.

20. Montini Catholic (11) (0-1)- If anyone can't afford a slow start it's this team. Lakje Zurich is next up.

21. Batavia (21) (1-0)- I calculate that Batavia will travel roughly 720 miles in two weeks. Now that's a road trip kids.

22. Libertyville (23) (1-0)- Big, big, big test this week hosting Batavia.

23. Barrington (24) (1-0)- They just seem to reload in Barrington.

24.Phillips (8) (0-1)- Look for the Wildcats to be just fine folks, they play these tough early games on purpose.

25. Crete-Monee (25) (1-0)- Lots to like about these Warriors in 2016.

26. Cary-Grove (18) (0-1)- Trust me despite the loss to PR you don't want anything to do with this Trojans team.

27. St. Charles North (27) (1-0)- Expect lots of offense this season from the North Stars.

28. St. Laurence (29) (1-0)- Simply one of the more dangerous backfields in Chicagoland in 2016.

29. Lyons Township (30) (1-0)- The Lions defense comes up big over Warren.

30. Huntley (NR) (1-0)- QB Eric Mooney has a big debut under center.
