QB Davis adds his first offer
Naperville (IL) North senior quarterback recruit Drake Davis (6-foot-0, 180 pounds) was able to land his first offer on Tuesday from Eastern Illinois University. Davis talks about landing an offer from the EIU Panthers and much more in this recruiting update.
"I went down to EIU last Friday for a camp and I felt I did pretty well," Davis said.. "The EIU coaches had a staff meeting today and I was asked to call them at 10AM and that's when they offered me."
Davis, who was a standout quarterback this past spring for Boom Midwest 7on7 talked about his impressions from the Charleston, Illinois based school and adding his first offer from the EIU Panthers.
"The coaches at EIU said after the camp that it was possible that I could get an offer so I wasn't exactly surprise, but I've also heard that before from other coaches. It felt really good to get an EIU offer. I've been to EIU a few times for the state track meet so I've stayed in the dorms and overall it's a pretty nice place."
So what's next for Davis this summer?
"It's all about my team from here on out. These days I'm just working out and getting ready to report back on August 7th. I'm going to play the season and see how things go with recruiting. I'm definitely going to look harder at EIU and some other schools but I want to remained focused on my team and my season for now."
Davis, who played last season at Bureau Valley is excited about his new team's chances this coming season.
"We are looking really good this summer. I feel that we can be a playoff team and can also go deep. We have a lot of talent on this team and everyone is working hard."
Does Davis have any personal goals for his upcoming season?
"I never really set any personal goals like yards or touchdowns. Just going out and helping us win games is my personal goal."
Drake Davis has a scholarship offer from Eastern Illinois University.
