QB Taylor looks forward

Peoria (Ill.) junior quarterback recruit Coran Taylor (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) is coming off one of the best seasons in school history and winning the schools first state football title. Taylor also added his first offer from Illinois and Taylor checks in and talks about his latest recruiting news and more in this update.

"Everything is going well these days," Taylor said. "The state title party has definitely died down now. Winning state title is something that's always going to be something special to remember."

Taylor recently added his first scholarship offer from Illinois.

"Getting my first offer from Illinois is a big deal for sure. Illinois is a Big Ten school and it's also close to home. Illinois has offered me as a quarterback recruit and I just really liked the coaches and the facilities at Illinois."

So who else has started to show recruiting interest in Taylor?

"Besides Illinois I've been hearing from Rutgers, Iowa, LSU, NIU and Syracuse. They all want me to stay in touch and come visit them sometime soon."

Does Taylor have any upcoming visit plans?

"I'm definitely getting out to visit some schools next month. I'll get back to Illinois for sure and maybe a few other schools. I'll set things up soon but I don't have anything locked in just yet."

In the meantime Taylor will focus on getting back to work and preparing for his 2017 senior season.

"I'm working with my quarterback coach at school and also lifting. We go back over film and we are just working on everything that will help me get to the next level."
