QB Thorson checks in

Wheaton (IL) Academy junior quarterback recruit Ben Thorson (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) has been staying busy this winter but takes a few minutes to recap his latest recruiting news here.

"School has been keeping me pretty busy these days," Thorson said. "I've been working hard trying to stay on top of a lot of different papers and projects."

Thorson filled us in on his latest recruiting news.

"I've been drawing some new attention from Wyoming, Miami of Ohio, Harvard along with Rutgers. I haven't been able to get out to make too many visits but I'm going to visit Miami of Ohio on Sunday and watch a spring practice."

Thorson is also gearing up for what is shaping up to be a busy spring.

"I had coaches from Iowa State, Western Michigan and Miami of Ohio in January watch me throw in person. I also know from my coaches that we will be expecting to see even more college coaches to come to watch some of my throwing sessions."

Thorson also is hoping to get out to make more campus visits later this spring.

"I'm really excited to get to see Miami of Ohio this Sunday. I really get along well with the coaches at Miami. Wyoming is another school I'd like to get out to visit. Wyoming has a good track record of developing quarterbacks plus it's just a beautiful part of the country. I've also started to be in touch with Wake Forest and that's another school I'd like to get a chance to visit."
