QB Williams Jr. talks recruiting

Centralia (IL) senior quarterback recruit Javon Williams Jr. (6-foot-2, 229 pounds) took part in last week's SIU team 7on7. Williams Jr. took a few minutes to talk about his recruiting process and much more in this recruiting update.

"The SIU 7on7 was great," Williams Jr. said. "It was just good to get out with my team and get some good work in against strong competition."

Williams Jr. was able to also recently add his first offer.

"Quincy University (D2) offered me about a week ago and that was my first offer. Quincy is in state and it's also not too far from home. I still need to go visit them and I'm hoping to get that done soon before we report back from our upcoming break. I have some friends and a few teammates at Quincy so I'll talk to them about the school. It feels great to get my first offer."

Williams Jr. has also remained in touch with a handful of colleges this summer.

"The only college camp I was able to go to this summer was at Lindenwood and I thought that camp went pretty well. I've been in touch with the coaches from SIU along with Indiana State, Eastern Illinois and Iowa. They all want to see some of my early senior tape ."

Williams Jr. is also excited for his upcoming senior season.

"We have been looking good this summer. We have a younger team but I have some experience back in the skills. Last season I wanted to break the school's rushing record since I broke the school's passing record the year before but I came about 50 yards short. My own personal goal this season is to set the schools's rushing record and I want to run for 1,800-1,900 yards this season."

Javon Williams Jr. has a scholarship offer from Quincy University.
