RB Buchanan is on a roll

Aurora (Ill.) West Aurora junior running back/athlete prospect JaQuan Buchanan (5-foot-9, 165 pounds) is off to an impressive start so far this season for the Blackhawks and head coach Nate Eimer. Buchanan checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news, his season so far and more in this update.

"We are having a good season so far," Buchanan said. "We had a tough game last week against Glenbard East and we had to overcome some adversity in that game. Fortunately we found a way to overcome the issues and get the win and we learned a lot because of that game."

Buchanan, who has added 14 touchdowns and is averaging 7 yards a carry so far in 2017 filled us in on his latest recruiting news.

"I've been getting mail and more interest these days from Western Michigan. I've also been in touch with Ball State, NIU, Cincinnati and a few other schools. Most of those schools want me to visit them and come see a game this season. It's pretty exciting to see more mail and draw more looks from schools and hopefully that can continue."

Does Buchanan have any college visits planned at all this season?

"I'm set to go visit Western Michigan on October 14th and I'm also going to visit Cincinnati on November 25th. I'm also going to try to get out to Ball State for a game and also NIU. NIU is so close to home that I'm going to just find a game that fits best into my schedule soon."

So how is this season different for Buchanan compared to 2016?

"Last year we had a lot of senior and a lot of team leaders and players with a lot of varsity experience. This year we are less experienced but we are starting to get there. Once we get a few more games under our belts as a team we will just get stronger and stronger."
