RB Hess makes his college choice
Peoria (Ill.) senior running back recruit Geno Hess (5-foot-9, 185 pounds) decided to end his recruiting process today and gave Southeast Missouri State his verbal commitment. Hess talks about his decision here.
"I went to SEMO for a camp and I decided that I was ready to make my decision," Hess said. "After the camp I just felt like I was ready to make my college choice. I was offered a while ago by SEMO but after the camp I was able to see everything I wanted to see so I committed."
Hess went into details on why he ended his recruiting process on Sunday.
"I just love the coaching staff at SEMO. They show me a lot of love whenever I visit down there. I also just like the direction that the coaches are taking the football program in. SEMO has a lot to offer and I was ready to end my recruiting so I committed."
Hess, who was an All State running back as a junior in 2016 for the Class 5A state champion Lions also wanted to end his recruiting so he can focus on his team and his upcoming senior season this summer.
"I was still in touch with schools like SIU, Indiana State and Illinois State. They all wanted me to camp with them and to stay in touch. It just seemed like it was the right time before the season starts and not have to worry about it (recruiting)."
Hess is also thrilled to have his recruiting process completed.
"A lot of the stress is gone."
Geno Hess is verbally committed to Southeast Missouri State.
