RB Johnson looks ahead

Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy junior running back prospect Ke'Von Johnson (5-foot-8, 165 pounds) has stayed busy this winter which includes playing for Boom Midwest 7on7. Johnson checks in and discusses his latest football recruiting news and much more here.

"Recruiting has been going pretty well," Johnson said. "I'm not running track this year because I've been focused on lifting, working on my footwork and speed instead."

Johnson recapped his latest football recruiting news.

"The latest schools that have been in touch are Ball State and Minnesota State Moorhead (D2). They both want me to visit them so I'm going to try snd get out this spring to visit each school. I've also been hearing from North Dakota, NIU and Indiana State. I was suppose to visit SIU with some Boom teammates after our tournament but I couldn't make it. I'm hoping to reschedule that visit soon."

Johnson is also excited about the Hilltoppers chances in 2017.

"I think we have a chance to be really good. The younger guys got a lot of experience and I think that will build confidence going into next season. I'm excited."

Johnson is also happy in regards to new head coach Jake Jaworski taking over the Hilltoppers football program.

"I love Coach Jaws (Jake Jaworski). We've always had a good relationship dating back to my freshman year when he was my gym teacher."
