Recruiting is picking up for Guedet

Washington (Ill.) junior offensive tackle prospect JJ Guedet (6-foot-8, 245 pounds) was able to make a recent visit to Iowa State. Guedet, who has been drawing increased recruiting attention so far this season checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news and more.

"My season has been going pretty well so far," Guedet said. "We lost early in the season to Morris but we've been playing well since that game."

Guedet, who is playing on both sides of the line this season for the Panthers and head coach Darrell Crouch made a recent game day visit to Iowa State.

"I went to the Iowa State game when they played Iowa. It was my first every college game visit as a recruit. The Iowa State game was a good experience and a lot of fun. I was impressed with the fan support at Iowa State. They had a huge student section and they also have really nice facilities. The coaches at Iowa State told me to stay in touch and that they will keep track of me this season."

So who else has Guedet been in touch with so far this month?

"So far I've heard from Iowa State, Toledo, Central Michigan, Miami of Ohio, Louisville and Army. Toledo invited me to come out to see a game but I haven't been able to schedule anything up with them just yet. I'm hoping to get out to see Toledo and hopefully a few more schools this season."

So how has Guedet been playing so far this season?

"I'm happy with how I've been playing on offense. I'm also getting better on defense and working harder on learning the position. I didn't play a ton of varsity football until late last year so I'm starting to get more and more comfortable out there every week."
