S Mason verbals to Indy State

Kankakee (Ill.) Bishop McNamara senior safety recruit Giavion Mason (6-foot-0, 190 pounds) decided to give Indiana State his verbal commitment on Saturday after making an on campus visit. Mason is the third known State of Illinois recruit to pledge to the Sycamores on Saturday along with Linblom wide receiver CJ Rutherford and Simeon defensive end Tierre Turner.

"I chose Indiana State because it's a great fit for me," Mason aid. "I was also very comfortable with the new coaching staff at Indiana State and we will be rebuilding together as a team and a family."

Mason, who visited Indiana State on Saturday felt an immediate connection with the school.

"The way the coaches and everyone at Indiana State made me feel so welcomed. The visit really was impressive. The coaches presented it's vision on where they are trying to take the football program. The coaches at Indiana State also have a lot of experience and knowledge to offer. It's really a win-win situation for me."

Mason considered other schools but in the end feels that he found a home at Indiana State..

"Indiana State is the perfect place for me. I'm very happy about my decision."

Giavion Mason is verbally committed to Indiana State.
