So what's next for QB Thorne?

Naperville (Ill.) Central junior quarterback recruit Payton Thorne (6-foot-1, 170 pounds) recently wrapped up a terrific junior season for the Redhawks and head coach Mike Stine. Thorson talks about his next steps and more in this recruiting update.

"It was a good season and a fun year," Thorne said. "It didn't end like we wanted it to end but it was still a good season."

Thorne recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I was invited to the US Army All American combine in January so I'm getting ready for that event. I had the coaches from Cincinnati in school on Monday. I've also stayed in touch with the coaches from Western Michigan, Duke, Michigan State along with the coaches from Rutgers, Iowa and Illinois plus Toledo, Purdue and Central Florida. I would like to get out to visit a few schools soon. I might go visit Cincinnati and maybe Minnesota."

Thorne, who posted nearly 3,000 yards of total offense and 33 touchdowns in 2017 reflected back on his season and how he was able to improve his game from a season ago.

"I felt like I was able to get more comfortable in the pocket this past season. I was able to learn a lot more about myself and my game this past season. I learned how to better prepare for each game and how to go hard and treat every opponent the same and work hard in getting ready for each game."

So what will Thorne focus on improving this off season?

"I definitely want to work on adding more weight and size . I also want to get better in the pocket and be able to break down an opposing defense quicker. I also want to just be a more consistent passer and improve everything in my game this off season."

Payton Thorne has a scholarship offers from Western Michigan.
