Swaine is on board

Rochester (Ill.) senior two star ranked defensive end prospect Matt Swaine (6-foot-7, 208 pounds) ended his recruiting process this morning when he gave Illinois State his verbal commitment.
"I gave Illinois State my verbal commitment this morning," Swaine said. "I'm wrapping up my official visit and I pretty much knew after I arrived on campus that I was ready to commit and be a part of the Redbirds program."

Swaine talked about whey he gave the ISU Redbirds his commitment.
"I love the school. Illinois State just offers a great mix of academics and football yet they also just offer so much more. I really like the coaches and everyone in and around the football program. I had a great time with the players and the other recruits this weekend. I just feel like I already fit in here and that I will be very at home and comfortable at Illinois State. The community support for Illinois State and ISU football is impressive. I just really respect the entire coaching staff and I can't wait to play for the Redbirds."
Swaine also admitted that the Redbirds football program is making great strides and that was another big factor in his decision.
"You can just sense that the football program here is ready to take off. They have spent a lot of money in renovations and just getting the football program in a good position to be successful. The recruiting class is also a good group of players and it's exciting to be a part of that excitement."
Swaine has been on a whirlwind over the past several days having gone from winning a 4A state title to making his college choice in just over a week's time.
"It's been pretty crazy but it's also been fun as well. I'm still excited about the state title and now this decision just puts it all over the top. I'm glad my recruiting process is completed. It was a long process. A lot of the coaches told me to hang in there and somedays they seemed interested and in others they didn't. ISU was always very straightforward and honest with me and I'm just excited to have made my decision."
Matt Swaine is verbally committed to Illinois State.
