Dunlap (Ill.) junior tight end recruit Charlie Mangieri (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) added a summer offer from Northwestern and Mangieri made his first Wildcats game day visit last Saturday against Nebraska. Mangieri discusses his latest visit to Northwestern and more here.
"I had a chance to get up to see the Northwestern game on Saturday," Mangieri said. "I've been to Northwestern a few separate times but this was my first game day visit."
Mangieri recapped his impressions from Northwestern.
"It was a really good visit and they had a great game day experience at Northwestern. I had a chance to talk to Coach (Pat) Fitzgerald and overall it was just a good experience. I just really like the coaches at Northwestern and I also like the new facilities that are going up at Northwestern. If I decided to go to school at Northwestern the new facilities will be open and they look like they will be pretty amazing."
Mangieri also made an earlier season visit to Indiana.
"I was able to go to Indiana for the first home game and that was also a good visit. I've been to Indiana so much since my older brother Nick played at Indiana they just pull me aside to talk. I didn't take any of the tours with the other recruits because I'm already so familiar with the school, the facilities and the team and coaches."
So what's next for Mangieri?
"I'm planning top get out to make more visits. I want to get out and see Iowa for a game and maybe Illinois this fall."
Nick Mangieri has scholarship offers from Indiana and Northwestern.
