TE Marcotte to Wyoming

Mt. Carmel (Ill.) senior tight end recruit Jackson Marcotte (6-foot-7, 220 pounds) decided to end his recruiting process and gave the Wyoming Cowboys his verbal commitment.

"I just love everything about Wyoming" Marcotte said. "It's an impressive school, great coaches, facilities and the style of play. It's all awesome and In was ready to commit so I committed."

Marcotte, a two sport standout (football/basketball) for the Golden Aces discussed why he decided to head out West and away from the Midwest to play at Wyoming.

"Wyoming is so much different than here and that was a big part of the appeal to me. When I visited over spring break I just fell in love with the Western part of the country. It has a rural feel so it's like home, but you are also in the mountains. It's just really nice and also a nice change from here that I really liked."

Did Marcotte look harder at any other schools?

"I looked harder at both Southern Illinois and Illinois State."

Marcotte is also excited to put his recruiting process behind him.

"I'm happy to have my decision made. I would say that the hardest part of the recruiting process is just being a teenager and being offered all of this stuff then having to make a decision that will impact your life in such a big way. I feel that I made the best possible decision with Wyoming."

Jackson Marcotte is verbally committed to Wyoming.
