2017 results: 9-2 (5-1) Illini Prairie Conference. The Sages made the Class 3A state playoff field. Monticello defeated North Boone then lost to Byron in second round action.

Did you know..that Monticello head coach Cullen Welter has led the Sages to 9 straight IHSA state playoff appearances and that the Sages have never missed the state playoffs under Welter?
