Thorson keeps throwing it this spring

Wheaton (IL) Academy junior quarterback recruit Ben Thorson (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) has been throwing the football quite a bit this spring as several college programs have stopped in to watch Thorson. Thorson recaps his spring recruiting news and more in this recruiting update.

"It's been a pretty busy spring for me and my teammates," Thorson said. "We've drawn a good group of schools and we've seen a lot of coaches at our throwing sessions and workouts. It's been a pretty successful spring for me so far and I feel good about how I've been throwing the football this spring."

Thorson ran down his list of schools who have watched him throw so far this spring.

"So far the coaches from Western Michigan have been in to watch me throw, but that was before Payton (Thorne) committed. I've also had the coaches in from Miami of Ohio, Harvard, Cornell, Wyoming, South Dakota State, Western Illinois, Illinois State and also Winona State all watch me throw. I'm pretty much down now throwing for coaches this spring and the feedback from the college coaches has been encouraging."

Thorson is now going to start to plan out his upcoming summer college camp plans.

"I don't have any college camp plans set just yet but I'll be working on that soon with my Dad. I'm going to just look at everything and come up with a handful of school that I feel are really interested in me this summer. I'll probably focus more on attending the on campus one day camps so I can just get a better feel and see each school in person."

Thorson is also excited for his upcoming senior season.

"We should have a good season. We have a lot more experience back this year and our senior class is really close. I mean it's the last season so everyone is excited and working hard. Our conference has changed this year and we have some new names on the schedule with schools like St. Francis and a few others. Everyone is excited to get St. Francis on the schedule and it will be a big game. Also we have 6 home games for some reason this year which is exciting."
