Thorson recaps Cincy visit

Wheaton (IL) Academy junior quarterback recruit Ben Thorson (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) was able to make a recent visit to the University of Cincinnati. Thorsonn recaps his first visit to the Home of the Bearcats and more here.

"I was able to get out to visit Cincinnati last weekend," Thorson said. "I have been staying in touch with Coach Mike Denbrock and it was good to finally get out to see Cincinnati in person."

Thorson recapped his first visit experience to Cincinnati.

"I really enjoyed Cincinnati a lot. I was able to see the campus and they have a really nice campus and facilities. I like the fact that Cincinnati is more of a city setting and that the stadium is located right in the middle of the campus. I also enjoyed getting to talk to Coach Denbrock and get to know him better. He said they are excited about me and that they really liked my junior season video. They want to start building a relationship with me and plan to remain in touch. It was a great visit."

Thorson also has one more visit planned.

"I'm finally going to visit Northwestern as a recruit this week when they play Minnesota. I've been going to Northwestern to watch my brother (QB Clayton Thorson) play for a long time now so it's great to finally go as a recruit. I'm really looking forward to being one of the recruits on Saturday."

Thorson has also started to draw more recent interest from Illinois.

"Illinois has definitely been showing more and more interest. I've been talking a lot to Coach (James) Kirkland who is the director of player personnel. Coach Kirkland said he loved my video and that he wants me to come down to Illinois for a visit sometime soon."

So what was aThornson able to learn from his recently completed junior season?

"I learned how to deal with adversity. I didn't play as well as I wanted to play this past season. I still have a lot to learn as a player and I have to improve on not turning the football over and just being able to execute better. We had a very young team this past season and we bring a lot of kids back for next year.We will definitely have a good team in 2018 and I'm excited about our team next season."

Ben Thorson has a scholarship offer from Western Kentucky
