Lake Villa (Ill.) Lakes Community junior offensive/defensive linemen recruit Ryan Mullen (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) added two more recent scholarship offers. Mullen recaps his offers along with his recent weekend visit here.
"I was able to pick up two new offers," Mullen said. "Colgate offered me a scholarship along with Miami of Ohio. I actually went down on Saturday to Miami of Ohio and had a great visit"
Mullen discussed his weekend trip to Miami of Ohio.
"My Dad and I decided to head down to Miami at the last minute so we called up the coaches on Friday and visited on Saturday. Miami offered me earlier last week when they made an in school visit. Miami is just an amazing school. I was very impressed with the campus, the facilities along with the coaches at Miami. I had a great talk with head coach Chuck Martin along with several assistant coaches. Coach Martin has a plan and he is just a great motivator. Miami offered me as an offensive linemen but they also said they haven't ruled me out as a defensive linemen either. That seems to be how most coaches feel about me. My Dad also was impressed with Miami and I'm really happy and excited about them after the visit."
Mullen has also been seeing a steady steam of college coaches in school so far during the spring evaluation period.
"So far the coaches from Miami have been in school along with NIU, Ball State, Western Michigan, Toledo and also Bowling Green. Eastern Illinois was also here and I know that more schools have been talking to my head coach (Luke Mertens) about stopping into school soon."
So what's next for Mullen?
"It's track season so I'm going to be limited on visits for now. If a school offers me I can try to get away but we also have a lot of meets on the weekends now. "
Ryan Mullen has a scholarship offer from Western Michigan, Ball State, Colgate and Miami of Ohio.
