Vincent recaps Mich St. visit

Lincolnshire (Ill) Stevenson (5-1) junior safety prospect Jordan Vincent (5-foot-11, 185 pounds) was able to make a game day visit this past weekend to Michigan State. Vincent takes a few minutes and breaks down his recent visits, his latest recruiting news and more in this latest recruiting update.

"I was able to get out to Michigan State on Saturday for the game against Central Michigan," Vincent said. "I've also been in contact with some new schools and overall my recruiting has been going pretty well."

Vincent, who is playing safety and slot back for the Patriots and head coach Josh Hjorth this fall recapped his impressions from Michigan State.

"Everything was nice at Michigan State and I came away really impressed. Michigan State has really nice facilities and campus. I got to campus and checked in and we hung out in the engagement room, then we had the chance to take some photos and got to try on the jerseys. The Michigan State coaches talked and we then split into groups and then I had a chance to talk with some of the coaches at Michigan State. We also had a chance to go down on the field and watch the pregame warmups and it was fun. The Michigan State coaches said that they want to begin to build a relationship and that they want to get to know me better and to remain in touch with them."

Vincent also made a recent game day visit to Illinois.

"I also had a chance to head down to Illinois a few weeks back for the game against Western Illinois. Illinois was also really nice and they also have a lot to offer. I had been to Illinois back in 2014 when Stevenson won the state title so it always brings back a good memory for me and my family since my older brother Troy (Vincent who is now playing at Dayton) played on that team. The Illinois coaches had been in schools a few times and they want me to remain in touch with them."

So who else has shown Vincent recent recruiting interest and contact?

"Besides Michigan State and Illinois, I've also been in contact with Ball State, Iowa, NIU and Princeton."

So how has Vincent's game improve this season?

"My game this season is so much better in several ways. I'm much faster this season plus I'm also studying so much more film now. The game definitely seems to be slowing down a bit for me compared to last year. I just feel that I'm more mentally prepared every game now."
