Watch List: ATH Michael Love
LaGrange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy junior athlete prospect Michael Love (5-foot-10, 160 pounds) has been easily one of the most impressive underclassmen I've seen this past spring/summer camp season. Get to know this latest name to watch in the Class of 2019 here.
"My focus now has been strictly with my team," Love said. "Our team camp went really well. We have a lot of speed this season and we are really starting to come together."
Love, who is the younger brother for former Nazareth Academy and current Notre Dame defensive back Julian Love discussed his latest recruiting news.
"I was able to camp this summer at one of the North Central College satellite camps, Northern Illinois and the Irish Invasion camp at Notre Dame. I was able to get some really good feedback at the camps and I would say that my best camp performance was either at NIU or the Irish Invasion camp. I just felt that I tested well and also did pretty well in one on ones at those camps."
Love is also a strong overall athlete who will have a chance to show off his versatility this fall.
"I'm planning to play as a slot, some safety and also some corner this season. I'm also going to play on kick return and I'll play anywhere to help the team."
So what does Love do well on the field?
"I like to think that I run pretty good routes and that I can use my speed pretty well. I also feel that I have a pretty high football IQ. I worked really hard this off-season on improving my first step and my overall explosion. I want to be able to just get off the line of scrimmage quicker."
Does Love have a dream school?
"I would say my dream school would be USC. We went to USC for the Notre Dame game to watch my brother play and it was just a great environment."
So has Love talked about the recruiting process with his older brother?
"We talk all the time but it's more about how I can improve and get better. He also talks to me able what mistakes to avoid making."
