LB Campos has suitors

Lemont (Ill.) junior inside linebacker prospect Cade Campos (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) has been a big part of an outstanding Indians (6-1) defense this season. Campos checks in and recaps his season along with his latest recruiting news in this update.

"Our defense has been really strong so far this year," Campos said. "We brought back a lot of kids from a year ago and that experience has definitely been a big factor. We just communicate better and have great chemistry this season."

Campos has also started to draw fall recruiting looks and interest.

"I've been in contact with Miami of Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Cincinnati, Purdue and Northwestern. Most of the coaches just wanted to stay in touch and they have all invited me to come out to see a game this season in person."

Campos was able to make a recent visit to Miami of Ohio.

"I was able to go and visit Miami of Ohio last month when they played Cincinnati. It was really my first college visit as a recruit and it was an awesome experience. I was able to see the campus, tour the facilities at Miami along with getting to talk with some of the coaches. Miami has a great campus plus I really liked the weight room and the players lounge. Everything seems like it's brand new at Miami. I spent some time talking to Coach Eric Koehler who's my recruiting coach. He said that they are interested in me and will stay in touch and follow my season."

Campos also has at least one more game day visit planned.

"I'm scheduled to visit Eastern Michigan on October 21st. I'm hoping to get out to more schools but ut all depends on my schedule since once the playoffs start it's a pretty good chance we will end up playing ion Saturday's."
