Watch List: OLB Joe Perhats

Crystal Lake (IL) Prairie Ridge junior outside linebacker prospect Joe Perhats (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) played a huge role in leading the Wolves defense to a Class 6A state title in 2016. get to know this latest name to watch in the Class of 2018 here.

"We just got our state title rings," Perhats said. "It's pretty special and it's one of those things that I'll wear to any football related event or a special occasion but that's about it."

Perhats recapped his latest recruiting news so far this winter.

"I've been in touch with the coaches from North Dakota State, Air Force, Colorado State, Illinois State, Northern Illinois and a few smaller schools. I visited Illinois State for a Junior Day event and it went well. I had a chance to see the stadium and the facilities at Illinois State plus I talked with some of the ISU coaches. Illinois State said they would be back in school this spring to watch a workout."

Will Perhats visit any other schools soon?

"I'm planning to get out to North Dakota State for a visit in April. I also want to go see Colorado State and NIU sometime soon."

Perhats also filled us in on what he working to improve upon this winter and more.

"I've been hitting the weight hard and adding more weight and strength this winter. I've been able to change my diet and eat a lot more protein and it's working pretty well."

Does Perhats have a dream school?

"My dream school would be Colorado State. I have family that lives bear Colorado State and it's just great out there."

Perhats is also excited about the Wolves in 2017.

"Everyone has been working hard and we also bring some good kids and good overall numbers back. Everyone is excited for the season."
