Watch List: QB Amir Brummett

Decatur (IL) MacArthur junior quarterback recruit Amir Brummett (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) was able to add his first offer last week from nearby Illinois State University. Get to know this latest name to watch from the growing Class of 2018 in Illinois here.

"Illinois State is my first offer and it's exciting," Brummett. said. "Illinois State also offered my twin brother (WR Armon Brummett) and we've always talked about playing for the same school for college."

Brummett, who is a multi-sport athlete at MacArthur (Football/Basketball/Baseball) talked about his impressions of adding his first offer from Illinois State.

"Illinois State I know is pretty close to home. I've only been to Illinois State one time before and that was for something with Hoops. Illinois State coaches invited us to a Junior Day next weekend so I'll go visit them. Outside of that I need to go learn more about the school and the football program. It feels good to get my first offer."

Brummett also filled us in on who else has been showing recruiting interest.

"Besides Illinois State, I've been starting to hear from Syracuse, Illinois, Ball State and a few smaller schools. My dream school would be either Oregon or Clemson. Oregon has a great offense and really cool uniforms and Clemson. I'm a big fan of both Deshaun Watson at Clemson along with Lamar Jackson at Louisville. Both quarterbacks are calm under pressure and in the pocket plus they are true dual threats."

Brummett broke down his game's overall strengths and more.

"I feel that I'm a pretty accurate passer. I also like to make the defense work and I can be a real threat with the pass or the run. I also like to play fast. I'm working on my overall footwork and quarterback mechanics this winter."

So what is the best thing and the worst thing about being a twin?

"The best thing is that when we walk into a room people always pay attention to us. The worst part of having an identical twin is people always confusing us all the time.

Brummett is also excited for his 2017 senior season.

"We will be another year better this year. We've been a really young team over the past few years and this next season we will finally have a good amount of seniors with a lot of experience."

Amir Brummett has a scholarship offer from Illinois State.
