Watch List: QB Keenan Streitmatter

Peoria (IL) Richwoods junior quarterback prospect Keenan Streitmatter (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) has a big arm and big talent and is a definite name to watch in the growing State of Illinois Class of 2018 football recruiting class. Get to know Keenan Streitmatter here.

"Overall my recruiting has been going pretty well," Streitmatter said. "We saw some college coaches in school back in December. I know that the coaches from Butler, Wyoming, North Dakota and Western Michigan all stopped into school and they all asked my coaches about me."

Streitmatter, who passed for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2016 also hit the college camp circuit hard last summer.

"I went to multiple college camps last summer. I camped at Tennessee, Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, NIU and Purdue along with 3-4 other camps. The college one day camps I felt went pretty well. I wanted to get my name out there and I was also able to learn a lot from the different college coaches. at the camps and overall the camps ended up being a good experience."

Streitmatter discussed what he feels are his strengths on the field and what he's working on this winter.

"I feel that I try to be a strong leader for my team. I can also make good reads and also make good decisions. My mid range game is a strength and I'm a pretty accurate passer. I'm working on improving my deep ball this winter. I'm also always working on improving my overall speed and quickness. I want to become more of a threat running the football next season."

Does Streitmatter have a dream school?

"I was able to visit Duke when I was a kid and I loved it. I just loved the campus at Duke and I've been rotting for them ever since."
