Watch List: RB Kriston Davis

Belleville (IL) West junior running back/defensive back prospect Kriston Davis (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) is coming off a very strong 2016 season for the Maroons and head coach Cameron Pettus. Get to know this latest Class of 2018 name to watch here.

"We should of won more games last year," Davis said. "That just motivates me and my teammates to keep working hard this winter."

Davis, who ran for 1.200 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2016 has also started to draw some steady recruiting interest this winter.

"I've been in touch with the coaches from Illinois, Purdue, Tennessee-Martin, Wyoming, Minnesota plus Texas San-Antonio, Eastern Illinois, NIU and also Ball State. I've also visited Indiana, Illinois and Purdue so far. The coaches just wanted to get in touch and start to get to know each other, and they ask me to also stay in touch with them. My dream school would be the Florida Gators. I just have had a passion for the Gators since I was a little kid. I was also a huge fan of Emmitt Smith and he also played for the Gators."

Davis discussed what he feels are his strengths on the field and what he's working on this winter.

"I feel that I have a pretty high football IQ and just good overall awareness on the field. I also try to be as versatile of a player as I can and I also play defense and return kicks and punts for my team. I'm working hard this winter on improving my overall speed and my 40 yard dash. I'm also working on improving my hands this winter."

Does Davis have a player that he admires?

"I've always liked Tyran Matthews on the Cardinals. He just always plays up to his potential and plays hard with a chip on his shoulder. I love how he just goes all out all the time."
