Watch List: WR CJ Rutherford

Chicago (IL) Linbolm junior wide receiver prospect CJ Rutherford (6-foot-0, 170 pounds) has been on several radar recruiting screens over the past year or so. Get to know this latest Name to Watch in the Class of 2018 here.

"I've been just training hard and getting ready for the Army combine in San Antonio, Texas in January," Rutherford said. "I'm also looking at playing 7on7 this winter. I tried out for HeroH on Sunday and I just want to stay busy and work on my game this winter."

Rutherford, who had 48 catches for 705 yards and 8 touchdowns in his 2016 junior season for the Eagles recapped his latest recruiting news.

"NIU was in school not too long ago. I've also been getting some Twitter and mail from Illinois, Iowa State, Central Michigan, Ball State, Columbia, Penn, Northwestern and also some smaller schools. I was able to visit both Central Michigan and Purdue earlier this year. Most of the schools want to watch my film and to stay in touch."

Rutherford, who is a strong student in the class room talked about what he feels are his strengths on the field and what he's working to improve upon this winter.

"I feel that I run good routes and I've also worked hard on improving my hands and catching the ball with my hands. I'm also able to make big plays. I'm working on my overall speed and jumping ability."

So which player does Rutherford admire?

"I like Odell Beckham's game. He plays with a ton of fire and passion."
