Watch List: WR Nick Calcagno

Naperville (IL) North junior wide receiver prospect Nick Calcagno (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) had a very impressive 2016 junior season for the Huskies and head coach Sean Drendel. Get to know this latest name to watch in the Class of 2018 here.

"Transferring to Naperville North after last year has been a great move for me," Calcagno said. "I went to last year at St. Francis and the move has gone about as well as I could of expected. Everyone has been great to me at North."

Calcagno, who caught 35 passes for 467 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2016 recapped his latest football recruiting news.

"I've been in touch with the coaches from NIU, SIU along with the coaches at Central Michigan. We also saw some coaches in school recently from Wyoming, Illinois State, SIU, South Dakota and South Dakota State. My head coach (Sean Drendel) also told me that several of the MAC schools have also been in touch with him about me and made in school visits back in December."

Calcagno, who's older brother Quinn Calcagno is a sophomore defensive linemen for Miami of Ohio also hit the camp circuit this past summer.

"I camped last summer at Iowa, North Central College (Purdue satellite camp), Indiana and also Miami of Ohio all for one day camps. I'm very familiar with Miami of Ohip since my brother plays for them. I was able to make it to three games this season and we are also heading down to Florida on Friday to watch him play in the St. Petersburg Bowl against Mississippi State."

So what's Calcagno working on this off-season?

"I'm back to lifting, working out and training with Xtreme Speed. My strengths on the field would be my overall familiarity of our offense and I have a good overall understanding of my role. I also feel I'm a good route runner and also pretty good hands. I'm working hard on adding more size and good weight. I want to just get stronger and faster this winter and just improve my overall game."

So which player does Calcagno admire?

"Larry Fitzgerald. He's just the most consistent player in the league and he's also a leader on and off the field. "
