WR Brown adds his first offer

Calumet City (Ill) TF North (3-3) junior wide receiver/safety recruit Semaj Brown (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) is having a strong junior season for the Meteors and head coach Tristan Stovall so far this season. Brown also added his first offer earlier last week from the Kansas Jayhawks and discusses adding his first offer and much more here.

"We are back to .500 now (3-3) and aiming to get into the state playoffs," Brown said. "I also added my first offer from Kansas last week and it's a great feeling. Getting that first offer just makes me work harder and stay more hungry to go out and hopefully earn more offers."

Brown, who is playing receiver and cornerback for the Meteors this fall filled us in on his latest offer from Kansas.

"I didn't know that my head coach (Tristian Stovall) had been sending my video out to the Kansas coaches and they had been staying in contact with my head coach. I was asked to call Kansas wide receiver coach (Justin Johnson) and that's when they offered me a scholarship. Kansas is recruiting me as a wide receiver and I still need to learn more about them to be honest. I definitely will try to head out to see Kansas sometime soon and stay in touch with the coaches."

So who else has been showing recruiting attention towards Brown lately?

"I've been in contact with the coaches from Kansas along with Nebraska and also Northwestern. I was able to get out to Northwestern for the game on Saturday when they played Michigan. It was a tough loss for Northwestern but outside of that it was a great visit and a great experience. I know Greg Newsome already who I played against in 7on7 and I was able to see all the new facilities at Northwestern and everything was really nice. I was able to just talk to a few of the Northwestern coaches for a few minutes and they are following me on Twitter and said they would be following me this season."

Brown also filled us in on how his game has improved this season.

"I'm definitely much faster this season compared to last season. I'm also stronger this season and I'm just using better technique and a lot of my off season work is really paying off this season."
