WR Cekay is a name to watch

Lake Forest (Ill.) junior wide receiver prospect Ryan Cekay (6-foot-4, 185 pounds) had a very solid junior season in 2017 for the Scouts and has been drawing steady recruiting attention this winter. Get to know this latest name to watch in the growing Class of 2019 here. .

"This winter I've been just lifting hard with my team," Cekay said. "I'm also working with EFT training and I'm also playing 7on7 this winter."

Cekay filled us in on his latest recruiting news.

"I've been drawing interest so far from Duke, Air Force, Cornell, Harvard, Penn and Army. I also have the coaches following me on Twitter from several MAC schools plus Illinois, Iowa State, Central Michigan and North Dakota. Most of the college coaches just want to stay in touch and several of them have invited me to come visit the campus."

Has Cekay made any recent college visits?

"I haven't been able to get out to any schools just yet. I'm hoping to get out to see some schools later this winter or sometime this spring for sure."

Cekay has also been focused on improving his overall game this winter.

"I had played quarterback all the way up until my sophomore season until I was pulled up to fill in at receiver. I'm really working hard this winter on just improving my overall technique and fundamentals. I really just never was able to get the basics down like I wanted to, things like being a better blocker or just working on getting a better release off the line."

Does Cekay have a dream school?

"My dream school would be either Stanford or Duke. Both schools offers such a great education plus I have family living in both areas."
