WR Payne is ready for summer

Chicago (IL) Simeon junior wide receiver prospect Leon Payne (6-foot-0, 165 pounds) has been an impressive mainstay on the camp circuit this off-season. Payne takes time to fill us in on his latest recruiting news and much more here.

"Besides Boom I'm also running track at school this spring," Payne said. "I've also been seeing some college coaches in school and I'm just also looking at setting up camps for this summer."

Payne, who is an impressive student in the class room (4.0 GPA) recapped his most recent recruiting news.

"I've been in touch with the coaches from Eastern Michigan, Minnesota, Wyoming, Indiana, Western Michigan, Central Michigan plus Princeton and Harvard. I know that both Western Michigan and Toledo have been in school this spring and we've also been seeing a lot of other coaches as well. The coaches have said that they like my tape and now they want to see me at a camp this summer."

Payne is also starting to fill out his summer camp schedule.

"I'm all set to go to the Sound Mind-Sound Body camp. I'm also going to the Northwestern showcase along with the North Central College satellite camps. I also want to get out and camp with Toledo, Western Michigan and also Wyoming."

So which school seems to be the most interest in Payne these days?

"I would say that it's Eastern Michigan. I stay in touch with the coaches from EMU quite a bit."
