WR Rutherford adds first offer

Chicago (Ill.) Lindblom junior wide receiver recruit CJ Rutherford (6-foot-0, 170 pounds) was able to add his first FCS scholarship offer earlier this week when the Indiana State Sycamores decided to extend an offer. Rutherford talks about his latest offer, summer plans and much more in this recruiting update.

"Indiana State offered me and it's pretty exciting," Rutherford said. "I have offers now from McKendree (D2) and now Indiana State."

Rutherford discussed his initial impressions of Indiana State.

"I know that Indiana State offers a great environment, team oriented and they also have a great coaching staff. Indiana State is also fairly close to home and they also offer my major which is important (sports management)."

Has Rutherford set up any summer camp plans yet?

"I definitely will be at the Northwestern Showcase camp. I'm also going to the Elmhurst College satellite camp along with one of the North Central College satellite camps. I'm sure I'll get out to a few more one day camps I'm still trying to sort it all out."

Rutherford has also been drawing steady recruiting looks from several schools this spring.

"I've been in touch with North Dakota State and also Illinois State pretty heavily. Also Syracuse, Columbia, Northern Iowa and Fordham have been interested. I'm also in touch now with Penn along with getting a lot of mail now from Kansas State."

CJ Rutherford has scholarship offers from Indiana State and McKendree.
