WR Tolbert draws more looks
Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township senior wide receiver prospect Jalin Tolbert (6-foot-1, 184 pounds) has been a mainstay this summer on the college camp circuit and Tolbert's hard work is starting to draw increased college attention. Tolbert.discusses his latest visits and more here.
"My recruiting has definitely been picking up," Tolbert said. "I was able to visit Illinois and Iowa over the past week or so and they both seem to be pretty interested in me."
Tolbert recapped his impressions from his recent trip to Illinois and Iowa.
"My Illinois visit went well and I've been to Illinois a few times now. I really like the coaches at IllinoisI just feel very comfortable with the coaches and now with some of the players as well at Illinois. Illinois is telling me that they want to see a little of my early video from this season. The Illinois coaches said they will be at one of my games this season in person. If everything goes well they said they will hopefully offer me."
Iowa also caught Tolbert;s attention on his recent visit.
"I went to Iowa along with Micah (Jones) and I've also been to Iowa a few times. Iowa also has really nice coaches and the facilities at Iowa are really impressive. Iowa has more of a wow factor when it comes to it's overall facilities and it all seems like it's brand new. Iowa also wants to see some of my early video. They have some offers out already and are calling me a late bloomer type of recruit for them and I'm definitely on the Iowa recruiting list."
Tolbert has also been in touch with a handful of schools.
"Indiana has shown some interest. I also have had contact with Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan plus Wisconsin and NIU. No offers just yet but it seems all of those schools also want to see my early season video."
Tolbert is also excited for his upcoming senior season.
"We are looking good this summer. We started to get some thing corrected this summer in team camp and I really feel we can make a deep run this season."
Jalin Tolbert and Warren Township will open the 2016 IHSA football season on Friday, August 26th hosting Lyons Township.
