2018 S Barnes adds CMU offer

Carmel sophomore S Zaire Barnes (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) added his first offer recently from Central Michigan. Barnes fills us in on his first offer and more here.

"It's pretty exciting to add my first offer from Central Michigan,: Barnes said. "As soon as they offered me I first called my parents to fill them in and they are also pretty thrilled."

Barnes filled us in on his early impressions of the CMU Chippewas.

"Central Michigan had a coach make an in school visit and they showed some interest. I followed the CMU coaches on Twitter and they contacted me on Twitter to call them back. I called the CMU head coach John Bonamego and that's when they offered me a scholarship. I honestly don't know too much about CMU. I'll definitely do more research on them and they also want me to come out and visit the school soon. It's just very exciting to have my first offer from CMU."

Barnes has also drawn more recruiting looks this spring.

"We've been seeing more and more coaches in school over the past few weeks. Besides Central Michigan we've also seen the coaches from Iowa, Toledo and Northwest Missouri State last week. I know that the coaches from Penn State, NIU,Michigan State and Iowa State also plan to be in school soon."

Barnes also has set a few early summer camp plans.

"I'm all set to go to the Northwestern Showcase camp along with camping at Wisconsin. I would say that my dream school is Wisconsin. I've always have rooted for the Badgers and I also love the defense at Wisconsin."

Zaire Barnes has a scholarship offer from Central Michigan.
