Hawthorne is still in demand

Chicago (Ill.) DeLaSalle three star ranked junior defensive end recruit Steven Hawthorne (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) has a nice list of offers so far this spring, and Hawthorne remains in several Power 5 recruiting lists. Hawthorne checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"I didn't get a chance to get out to any of the shoe camps," Hawthorne said. "I'm running track this spring and we had a meet over the weekend and track and school work has been keeping me pretty busy."

Hawthorne has remained in high demand this spring and recapped his latest offers and more.

"I have ten offers now from Boston College, Cincinnati, Nebraska, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Illinois, Syracuse, Toledo and NIU. We've also been seeing a lot of college coaches in school over the last few weeks. Recently the coaches from Boston College, Michigan State, Missouri, Toledo and Western Michigan all stopped into school."

Will Hawthorne make any early summer college visits or camps?

"I definitely plan to get out this summer and camp at some school and then visit some others. I'm set to go to the Lindenwood Megacamp in early June but outside of that I don't have any other camps planned at all. I still need to get out to see more schools and I'm hoping to do that this summer."

Several Power 5 schools are also hoping Hawthorne decides to camp this summer.

"A lot of the bigger schools are still in touch and they all want me to camp this summer. I would say that Michigan State, Michigan and Kentucky are the schools who seem the most interested in me who haven't offered me along with a few other schools."

Steven Hawthorne has multiple scholarship offers.
