Is Renfro getting any closer?

New Lenox (Ill.) Providence Catholic junior offensive guard recruit Jake Renfro (6-foot-3, 295 pounds) has added 18 scholarship offers and has also been drawing recruiting attention and interest from programs this spring. So is Renfro getting any closer to narrowing down his list of favorites schools? Renfro checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"I'm actually in the process of announcing my Top 6 favorite schools list" Renfro said. "I'm hoping to announce my top schools list sometime next week. I'm looking at making my college decision before the first full days of pads in team camp this summer."

So what factors is Renfro looking hard at when coming up with his top schools list?

"I'm looking at if that school offers a great education, have a great coaching staff and how do I feel at that school and around the football program. Does it feel comfortable to me and just how well I fit in the coaches and the rest of the team are all very important factors to me."

Renfro has continued to see a steady flow of college coaches in school over the past few weeks.

"This week it seems will be a bit slower compared to the first few weeks of the spring evaluation period, but we've still seen a lot of coaches in school lately. Recently the coaches from West Virginia have been in school along with the coaches from Kansas State. Tulane is planning to be in school tomorrow (Tuesday) and also Minnesota was in school last week as well."

Will Renfro take part in any camps this coming summer?

"I'm planning to go to the North Central College camp when it's hosted by Minnesota and Indiana. I might go to one or two more camps at the most and I'm going to keep it nice and simple this summer. Minnesota and Indiana are still in touch and showing me a lot of attention. Northwestern was also in that mix but now that they have three commitment on the offensive line I'm not sure where I stand with them now."

Jake Renfro has multiple scholarship offers.
