Batavia (IL) junior outside linebacker recruit Michael Jansey Jr. (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) was able to add his first offer recently from Central Michigan. Jansey Jr. took a few minutes to talk about adding his first offer, his season and much more in this recruiting update.
"It's been a fun season so far," Jansey Jr. said. "We beat Glenbard North last week and play another tough team in Wheaton North this week."
Jansey Jr. also was able to add his first offer recently from Central Michgian.
"Central Michigan has been staying in touch and it's pretty exciting to get my first offer. I haven't been able to go up there yet because playoffs have been busy but I'm going to visit soon. (Batavia senior OT and CMU commit Nolan) Eike tells me a lot of good things about them."
Jansey Jr. was able to make some early season game day visits.
"I've gone to game day visits with Minnesota, Northwestern and Western Michigan. I've also been talking with NIU, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Eastern Michigan. I've talked to most of those coaches about visiting there campus this off season."
Jansey Jr. who played outside linebacker last year is now playing inside this season talked about his game has changed this season.
"I've gotten a lot faster and stronger this season. Also moving to the middle has opened up my versatility I try to pattern my game after a guy like Clay Matthews. I'm either in a 9 technique coming from the outside or if I gotta fill roles I can go inside."
Does Jansey Jr. have a dream school?
"My dream was to always just play college football. My Aunt and Uncle went to Notre Dame. As a kid I grew up watching Notre Dame and being a Notre Dame fan."
