LB Wright II checks in

Homewood (Ill.) Flossmoor junior inside linebacker recruit Mario Wright II (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) has seen a steady flow of college recruiting interest this winter including Wight II adding a handful of early scholarship offers. Wright II checks in and recaps his latest recruiting news here.

"Recruiting has been going pretty good," Wright II said. "I've also been focused on school and also working out. I'm also looking at doing track this year."

Wright II was able to make a few Junior Day visits so far this winter.

"I visited both Miami of Ohio and Ball State a few weeks ago. I went from Miami of Ohio to Ball State in one weekend and both visits went well. I was able to add offers from both schools which was great. I was also suppose to go to Central Michigan for a junior day last weekend but I couldn't make it. I'll definitely get back to visit CMU later this spring. I'm looking at visiting both Central Michigan and also Illinois this spring."

Wright II has also been in touch with several college coaches this winter.

"Besides Miami of Ohio, Ball State and Central Michigan I've also been in touch with the coaches from Illinois, Penn State, Wisconsin and also Western Michigan. Both Penn State and Western Michigan made recent in school visits. My dream school as a kid was Ohio State but as I get older I'm just a fan of the Big 10 conference. I'd love to get the chance to play in the Big Ten someday."

Wright II also talked about he's focus on improving in his overall game this winter

"I'm looking to get looser hips and just better overall flexibility. I'm also looking to take a bigger leadership role this year for my team. I'm one of the older guys on the team now and I want to make sure I'm being more of a leader for younger guys."

Mario Wright II has scholarship offers from Ball State and Miami of Ohio.
