OT Slaughter has offers

Belleville (Ill.) Althoff junior offensive tackle recruit Jordyn Slaughter (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) is currently in the middle of his basketball season, yet that hasn't slowed down Slaughter's football recruiting process. Slaughter has five scholarship offers and counting this winter and fills us in on his latest recruiting news here.

"Recruiting has been going well," Slaughter said. "I have five offers so far and I'm also in touch with several other coaches. I haven't been able to get out to visit any schools yet but I am heading to SIU on Thursday for a visit."

Slaughter talked about his latest scholarship offers and suitors.

"I have scholarship offers so far from Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Bowling Green and Toledo. I've also been in touch with the coaches from Illinois, South Dakota, NIU, Ball State and also Minnesota."

Does Slaughter have a dream school?

"My dream school I guess would be Alabama. I just watch them play and I just see myself playing for them. They have such a great football program and are in the national championship game every year."

Slaughter also discussed his strength in his game along with his area's for improvement.

"My pass blocking is a strength. I also feel that I have a pretty good first step and that I also keep good pad level. I'm working hard on improving my run blocking along with improving my overall footwork. A lot of the college coaches have told me they want to see my footwork improve."

Slaughter is also hoping to get out and visit more colleges this spring.

"Basketball season just keeps me pretty busy this time of the year so it's hard to get out to visit schools. My family has talked about getting out this spring and going to see more schools in person."

Jordyn Slaughter has scholarship offers from EIU, SIU, Southeast Missouri State, Bowling Green and Toledo.
