RB Brock remains in demand

Quincy (Ill.) sophomore running back recruit Jirehl Brock (6-foot-0, 186 pounds) has already added a handful of Power 5 scholarship offers this spring. Brock is also on several other Power 5 recruiting short list and checks in with this latest recruiting update.

"It's kind of unbelievable to me," Brock said in regards to his recruiting process so far this spring. "I have offers now from Iowa State, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan State and we've been seeing a lot of college coaches in school."

Brock recapped his latest recruiting news.

"My coaches told me that Northwestern is planning to be in school tomorrow (Thursday). On Friday Missouri is planning to be in school along with Iowa State. A lot of the schools who have been in school all want me to camp with them this summer. I visited Iowa for a junior day awhile back and I went to Illinois for a game last fall and those are the only schools I've been able to visit so far."

Which schools have been showing Brock more recruiting interest lately?

"Penn State has been really interested. Northwestern, Missouri, Notre Dame, Arkansas and Duke are schools that I've heard from and have received mail from so far. Penn State wants me to go to the NIU camp on June 14th so they can see me in person. I'm sure I'll end up doing a few camps this summer but I haven't scheduled anything just yet."

So when did it hit Brock that he was becoming a highly sought after recruit?

"It really hit me after Michigan State offered. When Iowa offered me I knew that they heard about me from one of the Edwardsville coaches. When Michigan State offered me I was like my name is actually getting out there."

So does Brock have a dream school?

"My Dad is from Ohio so I've always been an Ohio State fan. I've always wanted the opportunity to go to school and play for Ohio State."
