Did you know...that Hall of Fame former Kaneland head coach Joe Thorgesen, who was the Knights head coach from 1981 to 2006 didn't take the Knights to the state playoff field for the first 14 years of his Kaneland coaching career? Thorgesen however made up for lost time, leading the Knights to 12 straight state playoff appearances and back to back Class 3A state football titles in 1997 and 1998.
EDGYTIM's Way Too Early Take on the 2018 Kaneland Knights? Lots of changes are on the horizon for the Knights and second year head coach Pat Ryan, as the final season of the Northern Illinois Big 12 conference will happen this fall. Kaneland will bring back a good core of returning starters and will again be a threat to win the Northern Illinois Big 12 East and gain a Class 5A state playoff spot.
Keep an Eye on: Kaneland has some nice impact starters back in 2018. Senior RB Jonathon Alstott (yes he is the nephew of former JCA great Mike Alstott) will be a four year varsity starter in 2018. Also keep an eye on senior OL/DL Drew Hahn who is also multi-year starter back again this fall for Kaneland.
