Morris (IL) junior offensive tackle prospect Nathan Korte (6-foot-3, 285 pounds) took part in Monday's EDGYTIM Underclassmen Showcase powered by EFT Football Academy. Korte had a strong camp performance and talks about his latest recruiting news and much more in this update.
"The Showcase was a good event," Korte said. "I liked how we had a lot of chances to get work in one on ones. The competition level was also good at the camp."
Korte talked about his latest recruiting news.
"I've been staying in touch with Illinois on a regular basis. I've also gotten mail from Kansas State. Western Michigan was also in touch before they had the coaching changes and I also hear from Illinois State. My dream school would be Illinois. My sister Kaylin goes to Illinois and my parents also went to Illinois."
Korte talked about what he feels are his strengths on the field and more.
"We run the football a lot at Morris and I love the running game. I also feel that I can pass protect pretty well. I take pride on my down blocks and also just getting to the next level. I'm working on improving my zone blocking along with just getting stronger and faster."
So which player does Korte admire?
"I'm a big fan of Kyle Long from the Bears. He can be a dominant player. I also admire Kevin Henry who played at Morris and also played at Central Michigan."
Korte is also excited about the 2017 Morris Redskins.
"Wed had a decent year last year but I think we can be even better. We bring back a lot of kids from last year and everyone is working pretty hard."
