Watch List: QB Ben Thorson

Wheaton (IL) Academy sophomore quarterback prospect Ben Thorson (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) is an impressive signal caller who also has the potential of playing at the high college level. Get to know Ben Thorson here.

"I've been working with my quarterback coach (Kent Graham) this off-season," Thorson said. "I'm also playing some 7on7 this spring with my high school team. We just stated the season last week and won our first game."

Thorson, who is the younger brother of former Wheaton North standout Clayton Thorson (Northwestern) has started to draw some recruiting interest this spring.

"I've been able to camp at both Wisconsin and Northwestern and I stay in touch with the coaches from both schools. I also have also drawn interest from Duke and Iowa. I would say that my dream school would be anyone in the Big Ten. I'm just a Midwest guy and I've watched Big ten football forever."

Thorson has also started to line up his summer camp plans.

"I'm looking at going to a handful of college one day camps this summer. I'm looking at camping at Duke, Northwestern, Iowa, Wisconsin, NIU and Illinois."

So what players does Thorson admire?

"It starts with my older brother Clayton (Thorson). He's my best friend and he's also a great teacher who's also very humble. I've always been a big fan of Payton Manning along with Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers and they all offer something different."

Thorson is also excited to get back out on the field with the Warriors this coming fall.

"We will be young but we also have a lot of good young guys who are ready to step up. Everyone is working hard and I'm excited about this season. I'm trying to also be more of a vocal leader for my team this season. I want to take a bigger overall leadership role this year."
