A new adventure for DB Russell

Homewood (IL) Flossmoor junior defensive back recruit Wynson Russell (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) started his new adventure on Wednesday . Russell, who transferred from DeLaSalle to Homewood-Flossmoor this summer talks about his new school, his new team and more in this recruiting update.

"Today (Wednesday) was my first day at my new school and it went great," Russell said. "I love it so far at H-F and everyone has been great to me. The guys on the team really took me in right away."

Russell also discussed how he's fitting in with the Vikings this summer.

"Practices have been intense and you can just sense this is a championship team in the mix. We just have a tin of talent and just a lot of kids who can get after it. I'm planning on playing corner this season and I'm also going to get some touches on offense. It will be a good chance to use my speed on offense and try to help out the team. I haven't played offense since Pee Wee football so it's new and exciting."

Russel also recapped his latest recruiting news.

"I've been staying in touch with schools like Notre Dame, Michigan, Arkansas, Penn State and also South Carolina plus the schools who have already offered me. A lot of the college coaches want me to send out my early junior season video. I'm also hoping to get out to visit some college games this fall. I'm just going to see how things go this fall and I'm sure I'll get out to see some college game day experiences in person."

Does Russell set any sort of personal goals heading into a season?

"My personal goal is to always be the best player on the field. I want to become a lock down corner and I always aim to break the school's interception record ."

Wynston Russell has scholarship offers from Iowa State, UCLA and Western Michigan.
