Oswego (Ill.) East junior athlete recruit Justin Clark (6-foot-0, 185 pounds) was able to add his first offer recently from in-state Northern Illinois University. Clark, who has been playing double duty this season while leading the Wolves to a 5-0 record talks about his first offer snd much more here.
"We had a big win on Friday over Plainfield North," Clark said. "I was also able to add my first offer from NIU last week so overall things have been going great."
Guedet, who is playing quarterback and safety for the Wolves and head coach Tyson LeBlanc filled us in on adding his first offer from NIU.
"One of the NIU coaches (Mike Uremovich) actually was in school last week. He asked my coaches to have me call him later that day and that's when NIU offered me a scholarship. I camped at NIU last summer for a one day camp and I had been staying in touch with Coach (Jeff) Knowles on and off for a while now. NIU offered me as a safety prospect but they also told my coach that they can see me playing in a few different spots in college. NIU wants me to come out to a game and I might go out next week when they play Kent State. It's definitely exciting to add my first offer from NIU."
So who else has Clark been in touch with so far this month?
"Besides NIU I've also been in touch with the coaches from Iowa, Iowa State, Central Michigan, Northwestern, Western Michigan, Toledo and Illinois so far. Northwestern seems to be the most interested in me so far and I talk with those coaches a lot."
Will Clark get out to see a few college in person this fall and check out some game day experiences anytime soon?
"Northwestern has invited me to all of the home games this season so I'm sure I'll get out to a Northwestern game. I'm also looking at checking out Iowa as well."
Clark is also enjoying playing quarterback for the first time in his high school career.
"This is my first season at quarterback and it's been going pretty well. I worked all winter with my coaches at school at quarterback and I'm getting more and more comfortable. Everyone knows I'm not a big time throwing quarterback but I like having the football in my hands and making plays."
