Class 7A: Round 1 Top Names You Need to Know (in no particular order)
WR/DB Jeff Thomas East St. Louis- Thomas is a rare four year starter for the Flyers and head coach Darren Sunkett. Thomas, who is also a four star ranked receiver and a national recruit simply plays the game at another level. Thomas has off the charts speed and ball skills and just makes the hard catch look easy. Defensively Thomas also tracks the football well and is equally effective in the secondary for East Side.
ATH Jayshon Jackson Simeon- Only a junior, Jackson is another high level athlete type for the Wolverines. Jackson can and will play quarterback, wide receiver, running back as well as in the Simeon secondary and all special teams. Jackson will never leave the field, is a hard nosed baller and play maker. Avoid getting the football to Jackson at all costs.
WR/S Jace James Glenbard North- James, a Northwestern commit is another two-way standout for the Panthers on a team loaded with athletes and two-way standouts. James runs terrific route, has sure hands and makes catch after catch. On defense james also has impressive overall skills and ability. Needless to say James also has smarts on and off the field.
ATH Camron Harrell Bradley- Harrell, who is verbally committed to Iowa has been the Boilermakers go to guy over the past two seasons. Harrell is another multi-positional kid who can see time at receiver, running back and even some Wildcat when required along with in the Boilermakers secondary. Harrell has track speed and quickness and has to be accounted for on every play.
LB Jack Sanborn Lake Zurich- Only a junior, Sanborn is one of the leaders for the Bears defense over the past two seasons. Sanborn has terrific size and speed along with impressive ball skills and physical tools. Will easily be one of the most sought after linebackers in Illinois in the Class of 2018. Nee a stop?
