Evans finishes the quest

Crystal Lake (Ill.) Prairie Ridge two star ranked senior athlete recruit Samson Evans (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) was able to lead the Wolves to it's second straight state title and a perfect 28-0 record over the past two seasons. Evans looks back and reflects on his amazing high school football career and much more here.

"This year was definitely a different ride and a different feeling," Evans said. "We had a very senior heavy team and we took a day to day and a week to week approach all the way up to the state title game. It's just an amazing feeling to win it again and we've been having a lot of fun over the past week or so."

Evans, who ran for 6,385 career rushing yards and 111 career rushing touchdowns reflected on his just ended high school career.

"It's been just an amazing ride for all of us. Right now I'm just taking some time off and also healing up a bit from the season. I had some various injuries and I'm just enjoying taking a few weeks off. I'm going to miss just playing on the same team with my friends the most. We had a group of us who have played together on the same team since we were 7 years old. A lot of us didn't always play on the same team but we've all known and played with each other for all of those years."

Evans, who has been verbally committed to Iowa since the spring is also looking forward to making his official visit this weekend.

"I have my official visit this weekend to Iowa and I'm really excited to get back to Iowa and hang out with the guys. We all stay in touch and it's just good to get another chance to get to know each other better and continue to build a bond."

So has Iowa indicated what position Evans will eventually play for the Hawkeyes?

"I spoke with head coach Kirk Ferentz a few weeks ago and the plan for now is to start me at running back since I've been basically running the ball so much in our offense. Iowa also said they could see me moving out to a slotback along with punt returns."

Evans is also planning to sign on December 20th.

"I know that Iowa was planning some sort of ceremony that a lot of the recruits wanted to attend and sign at in Iowa but we have finals on that day. I'm sure I'll get it all sorted out this weekend when I visit Iowa. I'm just looking forward to signing with the Hawkeyes."

Samson Evans is verbally committed to Iowa.
